a Live In Au Pair and a Live Out Au Pair?
As a Live In Au Pair you will be living with the family. The family will provide you with pocket money (the amount depends on the number of hours worked) and full room and board. Room and board will consist of a minimum of 3 meals a day, your own bedroom and access to all facilities in the house. Being an Au Pair is a cultural experience and you will be integrated with the family. This means that you will be part of the family and you will be treated as a family member and join in on family activities. The family will give you plenty of time to explore your new environment and experience the culture.
As a Live Out Au Pair you will have your own accommodation and will be going to the families house to work for a certain amount of time. A lot of Live Out Au Pairs are still treated as a family member, but mostly it is babysitting or nanny work. Yes, there is a difference between being a babysitter or a nanny. Simply a babysitter only looks after the children and a nanny helps out with any child related duties (like meals preparation, laundry) as well.
